Team Moody Travels to Iowa After Derecho Damage

Have you ever heard of a Derecho? This storm system consists of thunderstorms with intense straight-line winds that rival those of tornadoes and hurricanes. A derecho comes with little to no warning with the potential to demolish buildings or landscaping in its path. 

Storm Team Moody was activated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 19th. We were granted 50 leads of homeowners who had water damage in every level of their home. The sales marketing team evaluated homes with missing roofs, fallen trees that had collapsed the structure, and windows that had leaked in water. Many of our customers went without power for over 10 days and were unable to leave their homes due to the lines and trees on the roadways. The devastation was something that these Iowa citizens had never experienced, even living in "tornado alley". 

Our team was able to assist with restoration services for over 15 homes in 6 days. We are thankful to be given this opportunity to help so many during these events. SERVPRO of Christian, Todd, Logan, and Simpson Counties is always "Here to Help"!
