Kentucky Flood

With the rain and flooding that has recently effected our area, now would be a good time to review your homeowners coverage with your local agent. 

The majority of the time groundwater is not covered by a homeowner's policy.  You will want to discuss your options with your agent in regards to your coverage.  If you have a basement, you want to make sure you have a sump pump endorsement that will cover you in the event that the water is to much for the pump to pump out.  If you live in an area that floods frequently talk to your agent about your property being in a floodplain and the coverages that are available to you. Remember after something happens, it's late to talk to your agent.
