Fires Can Happen Year Round

There are many hazards that can lead to a fire at your home or business in the summer months.  At SERVPRO we want to make you aware of these hazards so you can help protect your home and family.

1. Grill Fires:  Grill fires are the leading cause of fires in the summer.  Many people are grilling for their families, holidays and outings.  Make sure to maintain your grill and keep it a safe distance from home, buildings, furniture, gas tanks or anything flammable.

2.  Air Conditioning Fires: Air conditioners come in at number 2 for leading causes of fires in the summer.  Make sure your air conditioner is properly installed and well maintained to ensure safety as well as performance.

3.  Arson Fires:  While year round, arson fires are number 3 in causes of fire loss, injuries and fatalities in the summer months. 

A few other things to keep an eye on are smokers, fireworks, outdoor firepits and trash burning.
